The political significance of Saturday October 31st 2015 of All Progressive Congress (APC) Gubernatorial candidate for November 21st 2015 His Excellency, Prince AbubakarAudu in Lokoja.
The unprecedented crowd pulled by His Excellency Prince AbubakarAudu in all his rallies was like a done deal of the man’s victory at the polls. If the Campaign of the APC gubernatorial Candidate His Excellency, Prince AbubakarAudu and his running mate Hon. James Abiodun Faleke at the new Lokoja Confluence stadium in Lokoja on October 31st Saturday is anything to go by then, the man everybody calls the Prince of the Niger might has instantly won the election.
If the hand of the clock of the November 21st 2015 Governorship election in Kogi State were to be fast forward and supposedly conducted on Saturday October 31st 2015, His Excellency Prince AbubakarAudu and running mate Mr. James AbiodunFaleke could have recorded a landslide victory.
The tumultuous crowd of supporters and admirers of His Excellency Prince AbubakarAudu that greeted the rally came from the three senatorial zones in Kogi State. They were emotionally charged with festive mood of the chanting of Adoja starting from His Excellency Prince AbubakarAudus’s residence located at GRA in Lokoja and later terminated at the new stadium in zone 8. These APC supporters came from all walks of life, some were not ordinary faces and people but men and women of timber and caliber – Higher achievers for that matter. The likes of Echocho, Hajia Halima, Alfa and other notably PDP decampees who were tired of the party’s political antics were all there.
Movers and Shakers of APC National working Committee were also present – His Excellency Prince Abubakar Audu’s friend, Rabiu Kwakwaso former two times Governor of Kano State, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and indeed Chairman of progressiveness Governors a man populary called “My people, my People” to lend the lean on me kind of support to the Guber. candidate and his running mate.
The enthusiasm of the youths, women and other notables in Kogi State politics were at the stadium. It was at that moment that I realized that APC members were about 60%-70% are made of youths.
The writer does not like buying souvenirs at political events but on that day I bought myself His Excellency Prince Abubakar Audu and his running mate Faleke’s T-shirt. The political air of change and the sweet aroma of roses of victory were in the air. I saw Adoja and his amiable running mate, a man of an amazing recollection of faces, names and events.Mr. James Abiodun Faleke who can maintain eye contact with admirers than any politician that I had ever come across except Bill Clinton, former USA President.
Since it is a foregone conclusion that Prince Abubakar will now going to enjoy the trickle-down effect of the APC led Federal Government, anchored by President Muhammad Buhari. The broom symbol of APC will definitely sweep the dirts under rug of corruptive tendencies of Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State.
His Excellency Prince Abubakar Audu and James Abiodun Faleke are no doubt political master-piece and not poker players. The significance of the men, women and youths at that unforgettable Saturday 31st 2015 at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja – a potpourri colors of flag-off and grand finale rallies combined were Nigerians and Kogites have resolved to change political and socio-economic development of Kogi State from the PDP Administration of Capt. Idris Wada dominated and piloted by whims and caprices of his friends and kitchen cabinets of his business associates “The Rescuers are Coming”. I have been thinking, how about you?
